VapaVoid combats dry air effect

Humidification is not always factored in at the design stage of an air conditioning system and often extracts more moisture than is necessary which can have a detrimental effect on a building’s occupants. Vapac Humidity Control has tackled the problem by developing an innovative solution to combat the dry air effect caused by comfort air conditioning.

Vapavoid“Delivering a comfortable environment that includes humidification is important for the health of a building’s occupants. A balance is required to counteract the drying effects caused by comfort air conditioning systems” explains Dave Mortimer, National Sales Manager for Vapac Humidity Control.

As a result, Vapac has developed VapaVoid, a fully featured humidity inclusion system that takes advantage of the space available in ceiling voids and offers an alternative to in room humidifiers.

Manufactured from stainless steel, with a stainless steel drip tray, it is robustly designed to fit in ceiling voids making it ideal for applications where aesthetic looks are important, as the ceiling void is a discrete and unobtrusive location.

VapavoidSimplicity was a key criterion in the design which is based around a fan coil style unit, appealing to contractors and offers a flexible and practical approach to humidity inclusion. Based on a 1200x600mm ceiling grid, VapaVoid’s compact design and slim profile ensures that it fits most ceiling spaces.

Operational Benefits

VapaVoid is quiet in operation and unlike in-room humidifiers, the steam cannot be seen as it enters the room. Multiple units can also be connected.

In-room humidifiers consist of the main steam generating boiler with a room distribution unit (RDU) mounted on the top. VapaVoid offers considerable savings for over in-room humidifiers.

Clean Steam

With health concerns high on most installations agenda, water quality is assured. VapaVoid uses a clean, hygienic process for clean steam and better air quality by delivering 2-5Kg/hr of clean steam depending on requirements.

Maintenance

VapaVoid has multiple safety features as standard. All components are readily accessible for service and maintenance with components accessible from underneath.

Key Features:

  • 1165 x 595 x 260mm to allow access through two standard 600 x 600mm ceiling tiles
  • 2-5 Kg/hr steam production
  • 200mm supply and return air spigots
  • Filter option for free back return units
  • 16°C hold off switch to prevent condensation
  • Simple room mounted on/off control
  • Multiple unit connectivity
  • 35 dba in room noise level
  • Static pressure 50 Pa minimum
