Eaton-Williams secures GOST certification & targets Russian Markets
With a population of over 150 million and a strong desire for imported products, it is no wonder that Russia is attracting attention. Eaton-Williams has been eager to do business and now that its air handlers have finally received GOST and hygiene certifications, it is hoping to forge closer links.
As the Russian authorities do not recognise CE marking and European/International
quality certificates or standards, companies must obtain GOST R certification
in order to pass through Customs and sell products.
“Eaton-Williams can now supply direct to the Russian market, whereas previously we had to rely on third parties,” comments Marios Georghiades, Estimating Manager, Applied products.
A GOST Certificate of Conformity certifies quality of actually supplied goods and their compliance with contractual terms. The hygiene certificate provides confirmation that products are safe for human health.
By working closely with its Moscow based Russian distributor, Ventrade, Eaton-Williams has received both certificates for the IPAC Range of close control cooling equipment, enabling them to sell in to the Russian market. Vapac Humidity Control received its GOST certificate in 2005 for its range of humidifiers
With sales in Russia and ex-Soviet Republics already exceeding £2 million to-date, Eaton-Williams expects to exceed its targets for this year and increase trade with other countries in the region.
